Big win despite incumbency of 2 decades is ‘special’, says Modi | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed BJP’s “phenomenal” victory in the Gujarat civic polls as “special” as the party had won overwhelmingly despite being in office for more than two decades in the state.
The PM led party seniors, including home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh and party chief J P Nadda, in celebrating the victory. “It is heartening to see widespread support from all sections of society, particularly the youth of Gujarat, towards BJP,” he said, thanking the people of Gujarat in a series of tweets. He added that the results clearly showed the people’s unwavering faith towards politics of development and good governance.
Shah said under the leadership of the PM, the Centre and states were continuously working for the welfare of the poor, backward and disadvantaged as well as for development of the state. “This landslide victory is a symbol of the people’s incredible faith in BJP. I heartily congratulate the people of Gujarat for rebelieving in BJP’s symbol of development and progress.”
Rajnath Singh said the win was a vote for development, good governance and people’s increasing faith in Modi’s leadership. Nadda also said the win was a testimony of people’s unflinching faith in the leadership of Modi and his government’s prodevelopment policies.
